Someone with parental responsibility will need to give consent for a child, up to the age of 16 years, to have a blood test. 

     Whilst we make every attempt to successfully gain blood samples from children, we will never put a child under unnecessary stress or emotional upset.

     We would never restrain a child to obtain a blood sample but may need assistance to help hold them still during the procedure, this would only be necessary to prevent unnecessary trauma, to both your child and their veins.
