A topical anesthetic can be applied, which we can discuss before hand, and decide if it is in their best interests to use the cream or would it add to the stress and anxiety?

    As with all blood draws, regardless of age, gender or ailments, if we can't find a vein, we will NOT go in with a needle.  "Searching" for a vein in any person can cause immense pain and anxiety - doing this to a patient with Dementia is unimaginable and not acceptable.  Will hopefully, look forward to meeting you and your loved one.
