Some blood tests need certain requirements, i e, Fasting.

     If you have been told to fast by you Doctor it means you cannot have anything to eat 10 - 12 hours before your test and only drink plain water. 

     You may be asked to stop taking a particular medication, eg an anticoagulant, these are used to help prevent blood clots.
